A REPUBLIC AT RISK
America is at a point in time that will resonate through the coming ages. What ends up resonating could be the loud, clear ring of freedom across the land or the dull thud of a totalitarian empire, noticeable mainly by it’s oppressive weight upon our lives and spirit.
FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE
It’s a struggle, and don’t think there’s a middle ground in this. Things either get better or they get worse.
I know it’s tough to think in those terms. I’m generally an optimist and not an alarmist by nature. However, it’s foolhardy not to recognize what’s coming. Anyone acquainted with history of just the last hundred years can see it clearly.
Not a day goes by that there is not a new threat to the Constitution, our freedom, our sovereignty and our ecomomic well-being.
Fortunately, a lot of people are standing up and loudly sounding the alarm.
A TREMENDOUS EVIL
I would say that there is a tremendous evil loose in the land. At face, the evil is curruption at all levels of government and a widespread complacency or apathy among the American public. Until we substantially improve the latter, we don’t have a chance of correcting the former.
The good news is that corruption is being exposed. At a governmental level, the guys and gals in charge are smashing plate glass windows and running off with TVs, all in full view of the cameras. It’s the most flagrantly tranparent looting I’ve ever seen, and it’s our country’s wealth and treasure that’s being squandered and scattered, not to mention our bedrock ideals.
THE BARBARIAN
My message to you now is that the barbarian IS at the gates and the gates are in danger of buckling–in case you hadn’t noticed.
Without becoming morose, we’ve got to confront the danger and the challenge and we’ve got to arm ourselves with knowledge and boost the ranks of people who are willing to fight the source of this evil and win.
At present, it’s a war of ideas and ballots. Winning this, we won’t have to go for the guns. If we don’t win at this level, a shooting war would be inevitable because the individuals behind this protracted chaos, being truly nuts, are bent on destroying the place.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, study up on Communist Russia and Nazi Germany, and see what the runway to these abominations looked like. Having grasped that, when you see what’s happening here now, it should give you the creeps.
A RAY OF HOPE
There are many of us who understand there are demented individuals at the core of these problems. They may not appear so to the man in the street or to the status-seeking “ruling class” who do their bidding, but these captains of chaos are being exposed. We know who they are and what they’re about.
Like rats, bats and other critters of darkness, they shun the light of day. As we wake up and discover the truth, spreading that light far and wide, these sorry creatures scamper for cover where they whither and die.
A BATTLE ROYAL
In the meantime, we’ve got a fight on our hands. Each of us needs to check the records of our immediate State and Federal representatives in office. Whatever their party affiliation, if we see them having voted or acted destructively–enemies of the Constitution and fiscal sanity–we have to find sane, competent people to run against them and then, at a grass roots level, help those to get elected.
AN ACE IN THE HOLE
In all of history, the rest of the world has not had the kind of freedom for individuals that was won by our American Founders.
Other countries, even the apparently “civilized” ones, have mostly known tyranny of one sort or another. What freedom exists now–in modern-day Europe, for example–has been inspired by the American “experiment.”
By and large, other countries and cultures don’t really understand what it is about America that makes it so damn successful, but they want some.
THE TEST
After all the erosion of our founding principles over the past 200 years, will our nation have finally become conquerable by the destructive forces that are leveled against us–enemies, foreign and domestic?
This is the ultimate test.
I’m betting that a free people, which we are, will not stand for the tyranny we are currently being set up for.
But it will take a fight!
